1. Data Visibility & Anonymity (Important)

NOTICE ON AUTHOR LOGS: While Confessy keeps your identity hidden from public channels, Server Administrators have the option to enable “Author Logs”. If you submit a confession in a server where this feature is enabled, your User ID and Username will be visible to that server’s staff for moderation purposes. By using the bot, you acknowledge that your content is subject to the specific moderation rules and visibility settings of the server you are posting in.

2. Information We Collect

To operate the Service and provide moderation features, we collect and store:
  • User Information: Discord User ID and Username.
  • Server Information: Guild IDs and Channel IDs.
  • Content Data: The text and image content of your confession, along with a timestamp.

3. How We Use Information

  • Service Delivery: To relay your message to the specified Discord server.
  • Global Moderation: We store data to allow the Confessy team to investigate reports of illegal content, spam, or severe abuse, and to enforce Global Bans.
  • Server-Side Moderation: If enabled by the server, your User ID and Username are shared with Server Administrators via the “Author Logs” feature to assist them in managing their community.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. Data is disclosed only in the following scenarios:
  • To Server Staff: Your identity is shared with the administrators of the specific server where you posted (if logs are enabled).
  • To Discord: In cases of severe violations (e.g., CSAM, terrorism, imminent self-harm), we are obligated to report relevant data to Discord Trust & Safety.
  • Legal Obligation: If required by law enforcement.

5. Data Retention & Rights

  • Retention: Data is stored in our database to facilitate the Global Ban and Delete features.
  • Right to Deletion: You may request the deletion of your data from our global database by contacting us in our Support Server.
  • Limitation: Please note that while we can delete your data from our database, we cannot retroactively delete “Author Logs” that have already been sent to a server’s private log channel.
